Confidential Transactions (CT)
A privacy-enhancing feature implemented on the Liquid Network that blinds both the asset amount and type being transferred (other than the two parties involved) in a transaction while allowing nodes to verify and process it securely. CT is particularly valuable for businesses and individuals who want to transact without revealing sensitive financial information to the public.
The lack of on-chain confidentiality on altcoin platforms is a major liability for serious investors and financial institutions, allowing for the possibility of being front-run and increasing the risk of liquidation. For example, when a liquidation price is public on-chain, bad actors know precisely how much to manipulate the price to force liquidations.
